Round Butterfly Dining Tables

My parents started their marriage buying an entire house full of Early American-style furniture. The centerpiece of our home was a round butterfly dining table. We had years when its drop leaves were rarely propped up, except for Thanksgiving or Easter dinner. Other times, we ate weeknight dinners, worked on school projects, and finished Halloween costumes on its 70-inch surface.

Although my mother loved her round butterfly dining table, she was frustrated by how few butterfly dining tablecloths she was able to find with a 90-inch diameter. When she found a butterfly dining tablecloth that fit, she used it for every event, year after year.

Many years after I was out on my own, I was traveling for business. I entered a restaurant by myself, ready to take a small butterfly dining table in the corner and enjoy dinner on my own. But when I told the hostess, “party of one,” she asked me if I wanted to join the group butterfly dining table. I had never heard of such a concept, but there it was in the middle of the restaurant-a round butterfly dining table, bigger than Mom’s-where solo diners could join a group and enjoy some companionship over dinner. I loved the idea! Why didn’t more restaurants do this?

My time came to buy a butterfly dining table, and I chose a contemporary rectangular butterfly dining table (no butterfly dining tablecloth issues for me, I actually thought) in solid cherry. But when it came to furnish my breakfast nook, I didn’t hesitate to select a glass-topped round butterfly dining table. It was smaller than my mom’s, and looked nothing like hers, so I was confident that I was making choices that were my own.

I immediately saw the virtues of my new round butterfly dining table. The round butterfly dining table changed the dynamics of the dinner butterfly dining table-everyone sitting there was easily engaging with everyone else. I could look each person sitting at the butterfly dining table in the eye. And it was easy to slip a spare chair and a high chair to a round butterfly dining table.

My mother decided on a dinette set similar to mine in her retirement condo; she didn’t really need seating for eight any more. Our family’s round butterfly dining table was handed down my youngest brother who was just starting out on his own.

I moved into a new home, and my new square dining room accommodated my existing furniture well. But a few years later, I bought a vacation home, and used that as an opportunity to move out some of my well-loved and well-used furniture, and refurnish my everyday home. I didn’t hesitate when it came to the dining room-a found a round butterfly dining table, resting on a pedestal, in a rich espresso finish. Its contemporary lines updated a traditional style.

My round butterfly dining table has a unique feature. While my mother’s butterfly dining table had leaves that turned its familiar round top to oval (it seated 12 easily when she did that), my round butterfly dining table came with four leaves-each in the shape of a quarter circle. I pull recessed support rods out from the apron of the butterfly dining tabletop, rest an arc-shaped leaf on top of the supports, and clamp it securely into place. When I do that for each of the four quarter-circle leaves, and I expand the butterfly dining tabletop from 60 inches to 72 inches, and I can seat eight persons rather than six.

It’s funny that I actively avoided choosing a piece of furniture that resembled that my mother made a center of her home. I wanted to establish a household that was uniquely mine. But I ended up being happiest with a choice first made by my Mom.

Contemporary Butterfly Dining Tables

If you look at your dining room and find the same old butterfly dining table as the center piece of furniture that has been around for quite a long time, you may find the need to take it into consideration a great make over. Buying A Butterfly Dining Table

Of course you want your dining room to be pleasant and comfortable enough for you and your visitors to dine in. But if you have a limited budget when it comes to purchasing trestle dining tables, you want to make sure that you get access to the right choice of dining sets to fit your own preference.
Probably you are thinking what would be the best choice when it comes to dining furniture. Would it be the traditional dining sets of tables and chairs made of different kinds of woods, or would you prefer the modern ones made of aluminum and glass? Whichever is your choice, you have to keep in mind that there are important things to consider when it comes to purchasing such dining sets and that is the shape and the size of the trestle dining tables as well as the chairs.
Why The Shape is Important
The shape of your dining furniture is important because this will set the mood in your dining room. More often the shape of the tables depend on what their purpose would be. Like for instance if its is rectangular or oval and shape. This would be more of the typical trestle dining table you will see which may signify authority in the house because the two round or smaller edges of the table is where the leaders of the house will be sitting at.
However, if it’s a round table, you will find this to be the table of those who find authority in the trestle dining table not an issue. Everybody is considered at the same level as they dine in this rounded shape trestle dining table.
Why The Size is Important
The size of the trestle dining tables and chairs are important because the size will determine the seating capacity of the dining set and if it fits the number of people that will be dining on it on a regular basis. Another thing is that, the larger the dining set you will acquire, the larger the space that you will be needing.
You will have to take note of both to make sure that the furniture that you will be getting is worth the value of your time and your money. You don’t just decide on purchasing dining sets by looking at its price and your budget, but you should also consider its functionality and if the style is appropriate for your dining room.

If rapping is so easy, write lyrics better than these right now.?

People will make jokes lol, but I find it funny how people think story telling and wordplay in rhythm is easy.

Well it’s the rap beautician
The facts you listen
I blast through rhythms like hash through your system
True in love and wisdom
Well off and witty
Using God’s sleeve to wipe the hell off the city
See my elegance, dining on the periodic table called developments
The universe designs my intelligence
Drop science down a bottomless pit
Run swift through a handstand on pyramid tips
The sun splits the waterfront causing prismatic effects
Butterflies come alive to have sex
Birds fly out of a top hat slow
To join the brilliance of wilderness and soar through the Congo
Speed the convo through colors and shapes
My word choice is turquoise I love to create
My art hurdles over the clouds of dark purple
Red mixes yellow and blue in sharp circles
Paint splashes over your conscious like canvas
Colors jump out of the body to form branches
Psychedelic images flash like avalanches
Illustrate skill with the quill to build stanzas
I use pens like hallucinogens
So who can pretend, my music ain’t a beautiful thing
A suitable king
Deserving of the jewels and the rings
That only flatters my appearance like the tulips in spring
I’m cool with the gods, I could never use the facade
Of a musician that celebrate hate and abuse women
The beautician is back, Humble Magnificent wizard of rap
Throwing tuxedos on the wax
Gangster wannabe? lol did you even read any of that

I am doing a dinner party this Thursday, and I am quite new to cooking.?

All I can cook really is what I have learned in food technology classes because my mother never really cooked with us when we were little. Mr grandmother did sometimes, though.

I am 15 and not a very accomplished cook.

Here’s what I can make:
Unbaked lemon cheesecake
Scones
Scone-based pizza
Pasta with bologMilaneseanaise sauce
Butterfly Cakes
Shortbread
Jam Tarts/Mini quiches
Fruit Salad
Chocolate Brownies, , etc, etc

However, I really enjoy the programme ‘Come Dine with Me’ and I have decided to try out a small- scale, very basic dinner party myself. I really enjoy cooking, and I am going to do it as a little Easter party for family, with daffodils on the table.

What drecommendcomend I make?

I would like to make a starter/soup, a main course, and a fairly light pudPreferablyrrably not chocolate, because Easter is overburdened with it!

Thank you

I have made meals for my family before, but it has usually been a little more simple, such as two courses only, with help.
I have made meals for my family before, but it has usually been a little more simple, such as two courses only, with help.
I can make rice, noodles, stir fry, etc as well.

My favourite foods come from Italy, France and China.
I would love some recipes, because I have never made that soup or chicken before. It sounds glorious.
They all sounds absolutely lovely.
At the moment, I am considering a simple green tossed salad with the tomato soup.

Some sort of pasta, such as tagliatelle or fettucini with either chicken or bacon and a creamy sauce. Garlic toasts and parmesan cheese on the side

And tiramusu/amaretto cheesecake.

Gosh, more and more new ideas flooding in!
Chris – that also sounds great. What do you mean by ”drop me a line”? I am afraid I haven’t been able to unlock personal messages if that’s what you mean.

Why do I feel like this? I just met the guy!?

Ok. so i just met this guy today, but he already got me feelin sprung! I actually met him at all places my grandmas house. I went over there to get a dress altered and she told me in the car that she took in a "young man named Ricardo*".
I didnt think much of it. she explained (long story short) that he went to their church and basically had nowhere else to go and he wanted to finish out his senior year in his school. i was just kinda like okay…wat ever. i tried on the dress and she pinned it and such and i had almost completely forgotten about the guy that she mentioned. Later, she called him down to the basement to ask him to carry something up stairs for her. immediately wen i saw him, i got like really bad butterflies. He was REALLY EXTREMELY cute! lol. so later that day he was kinda just sitting at the table talkin to me and my grandma and i found out alot about him then. He’s really funny and seems like a sweet heart. When my grandma left us alone for a while, we were really having like deep conversation and stuff. right when he was about to give me his number, my grandma walked in! ugh. so i couldnt get his number, but thats okay…
so he stayed out in the dining room with us for a while longer and we kept flirtin on the dl (like eye contact and stuff)
so i’m thinkin i might be startin to get a crush on this guy rite (it took her like 5 hrs to alter the dress. lol) until my grandma out of the blue mentions his girlfriend! wtf?! he changed the subject like really fast and we just kinda gave each other this look…it actually kinda upset me. like why would he flirt with me if he has a gf?

anyways, i guess what i’m trying to ask is why do i feel so strongly about a guy i just met? and why would he flirt with me if he already has a gf?
(thnx for reading all that. lol)

A boy in my class – help?

This is quite a long story, so please be prepared to listen.
I had just gotten into school with my friend Gabrielle, we were talking and chatting and giggling because we’re REALLY silly and we entered the Dining Hall where all my other friends and me meet up. I sat down at my usual table, Charli and Becky said hi, Edward, one of my boy friends (no, I’m not going out with him), came up to me with this new dude. When I looked at him he sent butterflies beating around my stomach. His name was John. Light soft brown hair, glasses, blue eyes, tanned skin.
We talked and I got to know him better.
He started looking me up and down, like checking me out. And he kept sitting beside me, following me, calling me fit and hot.
But then he bullied three of my closest buddies. He called them horrid names, making them cry, and, sort of as a joke, a girl in my class called us all together and henceforth the ‘Justic Against John’ bridage was created.
I felt really upset for John. Today was his second week at school and people already hated him. I think he bullied people to impress me.
I don’t know what to do. I like John, I think he likes me, people despise him, they want him expelled.

I really need help on this story idea. I'm stuck!?

This is what I have so far:

“No! No-no-no-no! You can’t do this to me!” I slumped against the wall, holding the phone to my ear.
“Lexi, I’m so sorry. But I can’t go… my leg’s broken.” Brooky spoke softly and I pouted.
“I know. But I’m not going if you’re not going. I won’t have any fun at all!” I bit at my fingernail.
“Lexi you have to go! Think about all the money your parents spent, paying for it. Remember, no refunds. Please do it. For me! To tell me all about it so I will want to go next year. You’ll have fun! You’ll make friends! You always do.” She laughed. “You’re so funny.”
“What’d I say?” Confused, I tilted my head. The thing I always do when someone or something confuses me.
“You always think that you can’t make friends- or that you won’t be liked, if you have to go somewhere by yourself, like last year at school, when my mom decided to home school me.” She paused.
“And…” I asked, waiting for the rest of her pep talk, impatiently.
“And you made new friends, and you had an awesome time in the first few weeks, that we convinced my mom to let me go back to school remember?”
“Yeah.” I knew she was going to win. She always does.
“So please go to camp… please.” I could just imagine the face she was making, her bottom lip jutted out a little, her long eyelashes fluttering, creating the perfect begging face.
“Fine, I’ll do it.” As I said it, butterflies fluttered in my stomach and I regretted it, but I would do it.
“Thanks.” I could hear the smile in her voice, and I knew that she really wanted me to go.
“Well, I should go finish packing, since I have to leave in two days.” I made my voice sound angry and smiled at the sound of Brooke’s laugh. “Thanks a lot Brooky! I’ll come over before I leave on Monday to say goodbye.”
“Hey Plexi, dinner’s ready.” My brother Sean stood at the doorway. He’s called me Plexi ever since dad used Plexiglas to fix the living room window when I accidentally flung our air hockey puck through it.
“Sean don’t call me that!” I turned back to the phone. “Bye Brooke, see you Monday.” I waited for her reply before hanging up the phone and heading towards the dining room.
“Brooke broke her leg.” I pouted as I sat down in my chair at the table.
“Aw, I’m sorry sweetie.” Mom patted my head.

Please be critical!

A part of my first chapter in Mother Earth. Tell me if you like it!?

I’m an aspiring writer. I love to write when I get the chance and here’s part of my book Mother Earth. Tell me if you like it and maybe i’ll post the rest!
Mother Earth: Book 1
Chapter 1

I woke up early that morning to the sound of my child yelling in my ear. I opened my eyes and saw Gabriel yanking on my bed sheets and him yelling, “Get up! Get up!” I finally rubbed my eyes and sat up. I looked over to where Kyle was supposed to be, but of course it was empty.
Gabriel released the sheets and backed away from the bed. I got up and threw the covers off of me. I headed into the kitchen to see Kyle standing and making coffee.
“Good morning honey,” he said with a grin his eyes on the coffee maker.
“Good morning,” I replied smiling. I went up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Where’s Susie?”
“She’s still sleeping,” he said pouring the coffee into two mugs. “I wouldn’t dare wake her up this early in the morning.”
I looked at the clock hanging on the wall. It was 6:30. I groaned and looked at Gabriel. He just shrugged, grinning. I sighed and dumped two packets of sugar into the coffee mug and stirred. Gabriel sat on one of the dining room chairs and ate his peanut butter toast, the crust off.
“Did you make me toast?” I asked smiling up at Kyle.
“Yep, it’s right over on the table,” he pointed over to my favorite spot.
“Thank you,” I said and picked up my coffee mug and headed over to the table. Gabriel had peanut butter all over his face and hands. He was still in Kindergarten so, it was explainable. I still had to teach him otherwise, though.
I laughed at him and Gabriel giggled, licking the peanut butter off his fingers. I picked up a piece of toast and bit into it. “Can you get me a paper napkin?” I asked Kyle as he was making himself some toast.
“Is it Gabriel, again?” he asked looking over the half wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room.
“Yep,” I said looking at Gabriel accusingly. He just giggled and got more peanut butter all over himself. I swear I wouldn’t know what to do without Kyle there.
Kyle brought over some paper towels and started cleaning off Gabriel’s face. Gabriel protested with some cries and finally gave up, leaving Kyle just to peacefully clean up his face. Gabriel left the table leaving half a piece of toast which Kyle usually ate after he was finished with his. He was really frugal.
After I finished eating, I cleaned up my area and put my plate on the counter. I sighed and looked up at the clock again. It was a little later, 7:05.
“Should I wake up Susie?” I asked Kyle. He looked up from his toast.
“Sure,” he said looking up at the clock. “But I would warn you, she hates this time.” I laughed and walked into Susie’s room. She was peacefully lying in her light, oak wood crib. Her mattress sheets were white with pink and purple butterflies. The butterflies looked so real that it seemed like they would fly away, but to be truthful that would scare little Susie and we do not want that, now do we? Above the crib was a mobile with butterflies that would spin around and play,” Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.
The walls in the room were purple and the floor was laminate. She had a changing table that matched exactly what the crib was. She had a toy bin that held all of her toy ponies and stuffed animals, except one battered down white bunny lying in the crib next to Susie. Susie was a one year old and was already starting to walk and speak to us. Her first word I remember very clearly. It was Gabriel. It was very sweet, but Gabriel didn’t seem to care much.
I gently picked up Susie and held her in my arms. I rocked her slowly and carefully. She opened her eyes anyway and looked up at me. After a silent moment, she started to cry, good thing I had a pacifier in my open hand and I put it in her mouth. She sucked on it and looked up at me with those big brown eyes.
Susie had fairly long hair, so I usually put that up into a ponytail or pigtails. She had light skin and always looked good in pink or purple. She was wearing pink footsie pajamas with yellow hearts all over it. She was adorable. I held her up to my chest so that she would be looking over my shoulder. I lightly patted her back and tilted my head to the side and kissed her head. Her hair was soft and black.
I headed over to the changing table and took off her pajamas. I slipped on a light purple dress and put yellow socks on her small, delicate feet. I brushed and separated her hair down the middle. I held one of the sides and put a yellow band around that one and then on the other. After tightening the bands and Susie crying a protest, I held her up to examine her pigtails. She looked fine so, I held her to my chest again and patted her back gently as I heard her faint breathing. The feel of her breath against my bare neck reminded me of a cool breeze.
Gabriel opened the door to her room a crack and peered inside. I looked ov

I have a phobia of bugs. more inside?

I have a really big phobia of bugs…I cannot stand wasps by the swimming pool…I used to run from butterflies now I avoid them…my mother used to have to take my glasses off when I was little so that I would actually swim, my cousin has picked up (both live and dead) wasps and tried to get me to pet them and to top it all off…I currently have a ladybug or wasp in my room and you should’ve seen how fast I flew outta my room. Is there any way (besides getting in contact with bugs) to rid me of this fear?
Btw, I was literally shaking when I sat down from running outta the room downstairs to the dining room table and I keep touching my head to make sure its not in my hair! I hate bugs! What can I do to lessen my fear…btw I will not go near them to get rid of my fear…I just don’t think I could do that. would therapy help? I even hate watching beehives shows on tv on the animal planet…all those bees make me freak. Help!
